According to legends, Rome was founded by two brothers, Romulus and Remus 3000 years ago. Long after that Rome became the capital city of one of the greatest ancient civilizations, the Roman empire, stretching from British islands to the shores of Asia minor. Today, the Rome is called the Eternal City. Almost anywhere you turn you will find buildings of history, monuments, museums and galleries. The most important monuments are those from ancient times. You should visit The Roman Colosseum where the gladiators fought to death, The Forum where you can feel the atmosphere of ancient times, The Pantheon, temple to all ancient gods. But Rome is more than that. On your stroll in the big city, accomodating more than four millions inhabitants, you suddenly find yourself in an Italian village. That means you are in a inner city surrounded by Aurelian's Town Wall. in other parts of Rome you will find a modern and fast growing metropolis full of skycrapers, glass and steel. And maybe that is what Rome is all about. A mixture of classical and modern together producing a blow of eternity.
