Time to check-in

Standard opening of check-in desks is two hours prior to scheduled departure. Early check-in is greatly recommended. Check-in closes strictly 40 minutes before the scheduled time of departure. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation and to deny you boarding if you do not comply with this check-in deadline indicated.

Recommendation:

After the check-in, we strongly recommend all passengers to stay in the airport building and watch the information monitors for potential changes. The Carrier is not responsible for missed departures provided that the passenger did not receive appropriate info, which has been announced or distributed using reasonable local information channels.

Flight Ticket and Electronic Confirmation

Passengers are obliged to show either their valid electronic confirmation with their reservation number or their valid IATA ticket (issued by a IATA travel agent) at the check-in desk. Non-compliance with these requerements may result in cancelling your reservation and denying your boarding without any compensation.

  • Photo-ID
  • All passengers must present valid photo identification at check-in for all flights. The only acceptable forms of photo-ID on SmartWings flights are:
  • A valid passport
  • A valid Government issued National Identity Card issued by a European Economic Area (EEA) country. Only the following countries from the EEA issue National Identity Cards which are acceptable for carriage: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland.
  • In accordance with Article 28(1) of the 1951 UN Convention, a valid UN Refugee Convention Travel Document issued by a Government in place of a valid passport is acceptable.
  • Expired or damaged forms of photo-ID will not be accepted for any flight. Failure to present valid photo-ID matching the names on your reservation will result in your being refused check-in.

Travel Documents and Passenger’s Responsibility and Liability

It is the passenger's personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation which meets the requirements of SmartWings, immigration and other governmental authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of breach of this requirement shall be paid by or charged to you. In order to ensure compliance SmartWings recommends that you carry your valid passport (and visa if applicable) on all journeys.

Visa

In order to ensure compliance SmartWings recommends that you carry your valid passport (and visa if applicable) on all journeys. If you are in any doubt about the need for a visa, we would recommend that you contact the local Embassy or Consulate of the country you intend to visit prior to making a flight reservation.

Online check-in

Online check-in opens 30 hours prior the scheduled departure and closes 1 hour prior the scheduled departure. This service is available only to passengers on SmartWings regular filghts with a flight numbers in a range QS1000 – 1209 and QS1212 – 1261 and on codeshare flights of partner airlines operated by mentioned SmartWings flights.

This service can currently be used on flights from Prague only. It can not be used without a ticket number, for a groups of more than 9 passengers and passengers requiring special services at the airport.

The passenger will recieve a confirmation via email containing his boarding pass after a succesful online check-in. The passenger can go directly to the departure gate if he does not have any baggage to check-in. Otherwise he must contact a check-in counter or a „baggage drop-off“ counter, where his baggage will be checked-in. In a unique case the passenger can be asked for a travel documents check at the check-in counter.

If the online service is not available, the passenger must use the check-in counter at the airport.
