January 26, 2021
Air carrier Smartwings and travel agencies EXIM Tours and CK FISCHER, members of DER Touristik Eastern Europe Group, have signed a three-year contract for air transport services. The value of the contract exceeds 9 billion Czech crowns. In the next three years, clients of Exim Tours and CK Fischer will fly to 50 holiday destinations in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Albania, Cape Verde, South Africa, and Oman by modern aircraft operated by the largest Czech air carrier. Separately, Smartwings signed a three-year contract for air transport services with CK Blue Style travel agency in autumn last year.

“We are extremely pleased and honored by the continued trust from the largest players on the Czech travel market. Winning the contract is particularly valuable for us in the current situation when both the aviation and travel industries are experiencing the worst plight ever,” says Roman Vik, Board member and CEO, Smartwings.

“Smartwings offers the required flexibility, an extensive portfolio of destinations, and flights from all airports across the Czech Republic. We have had a long successful partnership and I am happy that it is going to continue. I believe that this year’s season will be a turning point and travel will once again become an integral part of our lives,” says Jiří Jelínek, Board Chairman, DER Touristik Eastern Europe.

Smartwings is one of the leading providers of charter flight services in Central Europe. Besides the Czech Republic, where it also offers regular services to dozens of destinations, Smartwings Group operates flights from a wide range of airports in France, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Canary Islands with its fleet of 47 airplanes.

Despite the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on travel, Smartwings Group remains the largest air carrier at Prague’s Václav Havel Airport. Currently, the Group offers regular flights from Prague to 6 destinations (Tenerife, Las Palmas, Funchal/Madeira, Málaga, Hurghada, and Marsa Alam). As of mid-February, Smartwings is resuming flights to Mallorca (twice a week), increasing the frequency of flights to Egypt, and is planning to introduce charter flights to Cape Verde, Zanzibar, South Africa, and Oman. Czech Airlines, a member of Smartwings Group, offers regular flights to 5 destinations – Paris, Amsterdam, Moscow (3 times a week as of February), Kyiv, and Stockholm.

In the summer season, Smartwings Group is planning to operate flights from four airports in the Czech Republic (Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pardubice), six in Poland (Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Gdansk, Poznań, Wroclaw), eight in France (Paris, Lyon, Lille, Marseille, Nantes, Doville, Brest, Strasbourg), from Bratislava and Košice in Slovakia, and from Budapest, Hungary.
