Smartwings has expanded its fleet with another new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This is the ninth aircraft of this type in the Smartwings fleet. The modern aircraft in Smartwings colors with the registration mark OK-SWJ landed at Václav Havel Airport this morning after traveling more than eight and a half thousand kilometers non-stop from Seattle to Prague on a delivery flight from the manufacturer. Another 4 new 737 MAX aircraft are expected to be delivered to Smartwings next year.

The latest addition to the Smartwings fleet will embark on its first commercial passenger flight on Saturday when it will be deployed on a regular flight from Prague to Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria.

The first Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft joined Smartwings’ fleet at the end of January 2018. Smartwings operates this type of aircraft in a configuration for 189 passengers. There will be new direct scheduled flights to the largest island of the Azores, São Miguel (from 26 April 2024, twice a week), to Athens (from May 31, twice a week) and to Brindisi (from June 3, twice a week). Smartwings will operate flights not only from the Czech Republic, but also from Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary during the summer season.
